Theme Make&Learn

The conference focuses on the link between “to make” and “to learn”, thereby Make&Learn. The Swedish term Slöjd [eng Sloyd] is already mentioned in the 14th century law “Östgötalagen” and stands for; canniness, diligence, skillfulness, knowledgeable, wisdom, the ability to be handy, briskly, skilled in craftsmanship, artful, experienced, ingenious and inventive.
In NordFo context, Slöjd [eng Sloyd], with its educational meaning, is used as a common umbrella term for education and learning within the Nordic sloyd area in activities where materials and tools are included in the making of artifacts.

In relation to research and work for development, central issues will be raised and discussed about “to make” and “to learn” in the four themes of the Make&Learn conference.
