Re integration of Heden in the Gothenburg city center Abstract

Gothenburg is facing a period where several areas of the city are going to be redeveloped.

This architectural landscape structure proposes a new way for the innovative integration of Heden, an empty city block located in the city of Göteborg itself.

The aim of the project is to develop Heden by adding new vibrancy and excitement in the neighborhood. This idea is inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding, origami, and its patterns. In order to meet the request of raising this part of the city center, the Gothenburg Heden area can not be forsaked any longer. The area holds a rare potential of being the result of a new settlement in the city center because of its proximity with the main important places of Gothenburg. Attractions like the Lieseberg theme park, the World culture museum, the main shopping street Avenyn and the soccer stadium Ullevi are located nearby.

All research shall be studied in order to establish a context that could cater towards a solid base for the further design and could lead to accurate concepts.
