Aim

The relationship between jewellery and the human body is central to the programme in the Department of Jewellery Art and Design. The courses combine the study of production techniques, materials, colour and form in basic creative exercises and in their application to different types of jewellery. The main emphasis of the programme is the discussion and expression of form and the development of artistic skills.

The department's workshops are primarily equipped to suit metalwork but also facilitate the use of other materials. Courses in specialised techniques are also available, for example courses in casting, enamel coating and forging can be offered. Certain projects are carried out in co-operation with outside companies and manufacturers.

The Department prides itself in a well-developed international network. International contact is maintained through visiting lecturers from foreign countries and through international field trips.

Our Jewellery Art and Design programme is the only one of its kind in the Nordic region.
